Position Overview

The Maintenance Shift Technician I is responsible for conducting preventive upkeep, repairs, initial diagnostics, and evaluations on a range of facility systems and components, as well as various equipment utilized in both clinical and non-clinical settings. This role emphasizes a specific expertise in trades such as carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical work. The technical responsibilities associated with this position do not necessitate licensure or certification unless performed under the direct oversight of a certified and licensed technician.

Minimum Educational Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent qualification.

Minimum Experience Requirements

  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in facility maintenance and operations, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or finished carpentry.

Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Completion of an endorsed patient/visitor de-escalation and restraint program certification is required within the first month of employment.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Proven ability to implement safe work practices in the required trades.
  • Capability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Windows desktop applications and navigation.

Competitive Differential Rates

  • $4.25 - Evenings
  • $8.00 - Nights
  • $4.75 - Weekends
