Pediatric Cancer Research Clinical Coordinator

The Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI) stands as a distinguished National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, recognized for its dynamic and collaborative environment within the Stanford University School of Medicine. As a vital member of the Cancer Clinical Trials Office (CCTO), the Pediatric Cancer Research Clinical Coordinator will play a crucial role in bridging laboratory research with clinical applications. You will collaborate with a team of leading experts who are committed to advancing healthcare in the oncology field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison for research participants, sponsors, and regulatory bodies, overseeing studies from initiation to completion.
  • Evaluate participant eligibility and obtain informed consent in accordance with study protocols. Assist in formulating recruitment strategies.
  • Coordinate the collection and processing of study specimens.
  • Manage patient and laboratory data for clinical research initiatives, including maintaining research databases and preparing study documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to research protocols, conducting reviews and audits of case report forms for accuracy and completeness. Prepare necessary regulatory submissions and manage Institutional Review Board renewals.
  • Organize study kits for participant visits, oversee scheduling of procedures, and facilitate communication during monitoring meetings with sponsors.
  • Monitor budgetary compliance and address billing concerns in collaboration with financial and management teams.
  • Regularly interact with the principal investigator to ensure patient safety and proper study execution.
  • Maintain essential documentation and record patient and research data in accordance with institutional and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in monitoring visits and regulatory audits.
  • Hybrid work arrangement available.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Understanding of clinical research principles and federal regulations.
  • Familiarity with Institutional Review Board guidelines.
  • Previous experience in clinical trials.
  • Experience in Cell Therapy or Pediatric research is preferred.

Education & Experience:

A two-year college degree with two years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.

Certifications:

Certification from the Society of Clinical Research Associates or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, and use fine motor skills.
  • Occasional sitting, reaching, and performing desk-based tasks.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

Working Conditions:

May require occasional evening and weekend hours.
