Cancer Clinical Research Coordinator Associate – Radiation Oncology (Hybrid)

The Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI) stands as a distinguished National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, recognized for its dynamic and expansive approach within the Stanford University School of Medicine. The SCI is committed to fostering collaborations among faculty across various disciplines to advance cancer research, treatment, education, and outreach. We are in search of a Cancer Clinical Research Coordinator Associate to support our mission of reducing cancer mortality through innovative research initiatives.

As a key member of the Cancer Clinical Trials Office (CCTO), you will engage in vital work that bridges laboratory research with clinical application, contributing to the transformation of healthcare in oncology. Reporting to the Clinical Research Manager for Radiation Oncology, you will leverage your understanding of the Institute's objectives to effectively manage data, enroll participants in clinical trials, and assist with regulatory and financial aspects of research projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary liaison for research participants, sponsors, and regulatory bodies, overseeing studies from initiation to completion.
  • Evaluate participant eligibility and secure informed consent in accordance with established protocols, while assisting in the development of recruitment strategies.
  • Coordinate the collection and processing of study specimens.
  • Gather and manage patient and laboratory data for clinical research initiatives, including maintaining research databases and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to research protocols, conducting reviews and audits of case report forms for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare regulatory submissions and manage Institutional Review Board renewals.
  • Assemble study kits for participant visits, oversee scheduling of procedures, and facilitate communication with sponsors during monitoring meetings.
  • Monitor budget compliance and resolve billing discrepancies in collaboration with financial and management teams.
  • Maintain regular interaction with the principal investigator to ensure patient safety and compliance with study protocols.
  • Document and record patient and research data in accordance with institutional and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in monitoring visits and regulatory audits.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Understanding of clinical research principles and federal regulations.
  • Familiarity with Institutional Review Board guidelines.
  • Prior experience in clinical trials is advantageous.
  • Certification from the Society of Clinical Research Associates or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals is preferred.

Education & Experience:

A minimum of a two-year college degree coupled with two years of relevant work experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.

Certifications & Licenses:

Preferred certification from the Society of Clinical Research Associates or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat, and perform fine motor tasks.
  • Occasional sitting, reaching, and performing desk-based tasks, with the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Rarely kneeling, crawling, or climbing, with the ability to handle heavier objects when necessary.

Working Conditions:

May require occasional evening and weekend hours.

The expected pay range for this position is $31.73 to $36.54 per hour, reflecting the University’s commitment to fair compensation based on various factors.
