Position Overview:
The Stanford Cancer Institute (SCI) is a distinguished National Cancer Institute-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, recognized for its excellence in cancer research and treatment. We are currently seeking a Pediatric Cancer Research Coordinator to join our dedicated team.

About the Role:
As a key member of our research team, you will play a vital role in supporting our mission to decrease cancer mortality through innovative research, education, and outreach initiatives. The SCI fosters collaboration among a diverse group of experts across multiple disciplines, creating a dynamic environment for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities:
Your primary duties will include:

  • Acting as the main liaison for research participants, sponsors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Overseeing clinical studies from initiation to completion.
  • Assessing participant eligibility and obtaining informed consent in accordance with study protocols.
  • Assisting in the development of recruitment strategies.
  • Coordinating the collection and processing of study specimens.
  • Managing patient and laboratory data for various clinical research projects.
  • Maintaining research project databases and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with research protocols and conducting audits for accuracy.
  • Preparing regulatory submissions and managing Institutional Review Board renewals.
  • Monitoring study budgets and addressing billing issues in collaboration with financial staff.
  • Engaging regularly with the principal investigator to ensure participant safety and adherence to study protocols.
  • Participating in monitoring visits and regulatory audits.

Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • A two-year college degree with two years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical research principles.
  • Certification from the Society of Clinical Research Associates or the Association of Clinical Research Professionals is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
This role may require frequent standing, walking, and the ability to lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Reasonable accommodations will be provided for employees with disabilities.
