As an HSD/HSE Instructor, you will engage in delivering high-quality instruction to students enrolled in GED preparation and TABE reading and math classes, as well as high school diploma programs. Your role will also encompass teaching essential social skills, employability skills, applied academics, and project-based learning.
- Foster a positive and engaging classroom environment to maximize student motivation.
- Maintain discipline within the classroom to facilitate effective learning.
- Build strong rapport with students to enhance the learning experience.
- Utilize diverse curriculum resources to enrich the educational experience.
- Prepare adequately for classroom activities and lessons.
- Develop and maintain lesson plans aligned with course objectives.
- Record and submit daily attendance to the Student Records department as required.
- Assist in completing necessary documentation for the Job Corps program.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the classroom.
- Prepare reports on student and staff hours, requisitions, attendance, and evaluations.
- Operate in compliance with the PRH and corporate policies.
- Evaluate and document student progress and case notes in the appropriate systems.
- Support the Supervisor during scheduled inventory checks.
- Model and communicate appropriate employability skills consistently.
- Maintain accountability for staff, students, and educational resources.
- Adhere to safety protocols in all responsibilities.
- Promote a respectful and harassment-free environment for all staff and students.
- Participate in required staff training sessions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- State certification to teach in the location of employment (may be waived under certain conditions).
- Experience working with diverse youth populations.
- A valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
