Job Title: Psychiatric Technician Lead

About the Role:

The Psychiatric Technician Lead is a key member of the interdisciplinary team, working under the direction of the Nurse Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to create a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, supporting them in achieving their treatment goals. You will also mentor and guide employees, facilitating ongoing educational and growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Mentor and guide employees to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Facilitate monthly Psychiatric Technician meetings to promote collaboration and communication
  • Work alongside the Registered Nurse to ensure treatment plan interventions are carried out by direct care staff
  • Support and assist with organizing and preparing groups based on patient population needs
  • Collaborate with Nurse, Charge Nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager, and Nurse Manager to ensure unit safety practices and policies are adhered to
  • Serve as unit safety representative and ensure environmental safety is adhered to and identify areas needing improvement
  • Perform and maintain audits at the direction of the Nurse Manager
  • Collaborate with unit leadership to devise and implement guidelines and protocols
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required; Associate's Degree preferred
