Domestic Violence Intervention Program Coordinator

Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot and Piscataquis counties for over 50 years, is seeking a full-time Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP) Coordinator. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day operations of the program, ensuring compliance with contract standards and coordinating the implementation of all program components.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, providing group facilitation, and completing administrative tasks. The DVIP Coordinator will also collaborate with local Domestic Violence Resource Centers and/or the Department of Corrections to monitor group sessions and participate in discussions regarding potential issues with participants or victim safety.

Additional responsibilities include conducting screenings and intakes on candidates for the group, maintaining adequate data tracking and reporting systems, and facilitating Domestic Violence Intervention Groups according to state guidelines and the State approved model of domestic violence intervention program.

Requirements for the position include an Associate's degree in mental health, social work, or a related field, with 3-5 years of paid work experience that included direct service and staff supervision. At least one year of facilitating DVIP groups is preferred.

The successful candidate will have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, manage multiple tasks in an organized manner, and have a valid Maine driver's license that meets the agency insurance carrier qualifications.
