Job Title: Business Segment Leader

Anderson Dahlen is seeking a highly skilled Business Segment Leader to join our team. As a Business Segment Leader, you will be responsible for managing a core team of individuals focused on the customers in the Vacuum Business Segment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team of project managers, estimators, manufacturing engineers, CAD operators, and design engineers to meet the goals for their segment.
  • Set annual, monthly, and weekly goals for their business segment in support of the overall company goals.
  • Coaches and mentors team members and supports their professional growth and development.
  • Define job controls, processes, procedures, reporting, and other necessary tools to manage their team's work.
  • Review and monitor progress of individual projects to ensure milestones are being met.
  • Manage business segment effectiveness to ensure it meets performance targets, including profitability, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to establish segment strategy and annual goals.
  • Maintain positive relationships with existing customers and develop new customers along with sales representatives.
  • Manage risks and issues that arise over the course of various projects.
  • Prioritize competing project deliverables against team capacity and develop overlapping skill sets to create flexible capacity within their team's core functions.
  • Make bid/no-bid decisions for all new opportunities.
  • Maintain a schedule of all team work and ensure deliverables are aligned across projects.
  • Develop metrics and key performance indicators for their team, including achievement of estimated versus actual metrics, as well as capture lessons learned.
  • Coordinates/communicates and plans activities with other personnel, as appropriate, to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
  • Ensure a favorable company image is presented to customers and that all customer relationships are based on honesty and integrity.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or business management or related field with 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
  • Experience with ultra-high vacuum technology.
  • Proven experience in program management.
  • Solid team building and organizational skills, including attention to detail, problem-solving, and multi-tasking.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of CAD and 3D modeling tools (preferably Solid Works).
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (preferably Made to Manage).
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Displays a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow.
