Job Summary

As a Medical Office Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interview patients to obtain all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information, verifying insurance coverage and assigning medical record numbers as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of patient information into our registration system, meeting compliance requirements and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to exchange information, address concerns, and provide education on medical procedures and treatment plans.
  • Verify insurance benefits, obtain precertification/authorization, and determine required payments, including co-pays and deductibles.
  • Collect co-pays and other funds from patients based on established criteria, maintaining accurate records and resolving any discrepancies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 3 years of directly related experience may be substituted for the required education.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, printers, and copiers.
  • Time management and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Billing or collection experience preferred.
  • Computer experience required, with proficiency in medical office software and systems.
