Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Coordinator/Medical Assistant to join our team at the Institute for Clinical Translational Research (ICTR) at Johns Hopkins University. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced clinical research environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly, courteous, and confidential assistance to patients and families to ensure a positive experience.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on patient records and facilitate smooth patient encounters.
  • Use automated systems to expedite patient scheduling, pre-registration, and check-in/check-out processes.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure efficient patient flow and clinical operations.
  • Perform delegated procedures and tasks under clinical supervision, including phlebotomy, urine sample collection, and point-of-care testing.
  • Assist with front desk duties, including filing, scanning, and distributing documents.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Certification/registration as a Medical Assistant (e.g. CMA, AAMA, RMA, AMT, NAHP) required.
  • One year of work experience in customer service or a related field required.
  • Experience working in a research setting preferred.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. The successful candidate will be required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, lift and assist patients, and use computer equipment.

What We Offer

Johns Hopkins University offers a competitive salary range of $47,000 (targeted) to $28.80 hourly, commensurate with experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
