Human Resources Manager

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team at St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marin County. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing strategies that align with our mission and strategic plan in the areas of recruitment, benefits, time and attendance, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.
- Collaborate with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Manage the recruitment lifecycle from start to finish, including drafting, posting, and monitoring openings on multiple platforms.
- Provide new hire orientation and training on timekeeping software and policies.
- Maintain a robust understanding of existing benefits, including health, dental, vision, and 403(b) programs.
- Identify and implement improvements to benefits offered.
- Assist with benefits enrollment for new hires and annual Open Enrollment process.
- Manage changes to employee benefits during employment status changes.
- Act as liaison with benefits broker and third-party benefits vendors.
- Monitor employee timecards for submission, approval, and possible errors through Paylocity.
- Work with managers to resolve time and attendance issues.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Oversee Workers' Compensation claims and ensure that accommodations are correctly implemented.
- Proactively research ways the agency can improve compliance practices.
- Participate in and document disciplinary meetings.
- Oversee departure offboarding meetings and educate departing employees on benefits termination and continuation.
- Minimum of five (5) years of work experience in general human resources, payroll, and benefits.
- Experience, knowledge, and understanding of the Paylocity HR, payroll, benefits, and talent management software system.
- Proficiency with human resource software such as Ease to manage employee benefit selections.
- HR certification (SHRM or HRCI) is preferred but not required.
- Basic understanding of California and federal employment law, including wage and hour laws, leaves of absence, Workers' Compensation claims, etc.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Extensive onboarding and offboarding experience.
- Professional and empathic demeanor.
- Ability to act with integrity and absolute, strict confidentiality.
- Flexible, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Advanced computer skills using the Microsoft 365 suite of products.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English) is strongly preferred.
We offer a competitive salary of $70,000 annual salary working full-time 30 hours per week, including full benefits. Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
