Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Extinguisher Technician to join our team at ETHOS - Talent. This full-time position is ideal for professionals who want to make a real impact in the field of fire protection.

About the Role

This Fire Extinguisher Technician will be responsible for conducting inspections, repairs, and maintenance of fire extinguishers at customer premises. You will also be required to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to ensure that all fire systems meet local, state, and federal compliance codes.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Additionally, you should be able to carry and move tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular fire extinguisher inspections to identify any potential safety issues or non-compliance.
  • Perform necessary repairs, installations, and refills of fire extinguishers at customer premises.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications to ensure that all fire systems meet local, state, and federal compliance codes.
  • Collaborate with the Repair Team to recommend repairs to be performed on fire systems as needed.
  • Provide excellent customer service and develop strong relationships with customers to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Prepare accurate and timely service tickets and reports for customers and local authorities.
Requirements
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with portable fire extinguishers or volunteer firefighting experience.
  • Knowledge of fire systems and/or tools is highly desirable.
  • Certification in Oregon Fire Extinguisher Certification of Fitness is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and excellent communication skills.
  • Clean driving record and ability to carry and move tools and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

$60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
