Key Qualifications:

Aerospace industry experience is strongly preferred.

Familiarity with Lean methodologies is essential.

Role Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing Operations Manager is tasked with overseeing the operational functions and activities within our manufacturing division. This role involves crafting strategies to meet operational goals across various timeframes, including daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual metrics. Responsibilities include managing daily operations to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic objectives while fostering Continuous Improvement initiatives that yield long-term advantages.

Core Duties:

  • Promote safety and compliance throughout the organization.
  • Lead the operations team by implementing effective programs and processes to enhance manufacturing workflows.
  • Drive daily performance and oversee significant projects that achieve or surpass objectives related to Safety, Quality, Schedule, and Cost. In instances of underperformance, collaborate with the team to formulate a recovery plan.
  • Accountable for developing personnel, enhancing processes, controlling costs, monitoring quality, and optimizing customer service.
  • Manage Key Performance Indicators and provide daily performance reports.
  • Initiate and champion Continuous Improvement projects aimed at increasing Revenue per Square Foot and Revenue per Employee.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles effectively.
  • Identify and manage new opportunities that positively influence business and operational goals.
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing activities in accordance with established policies and objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Assess performance and product quality, holding accountability for outcomes.
  • Engage with customers, suppliers, and corporate executives with professionalism and intensity.
  • Build and nurture a manufacturing leadership team capable of executing necessary strategies and enhancing employee relations.
  • Establish a robust problem resolution process to facilitate quicker improvements and foster better working relationships.
  • Develop strong partnerships with cross-functional management (EHS, Engineering, Sales, Quality, Finance, HR, etc.) to ensure alignment with company objectives and efficient processes.
  • Maintain a regular feedback loop with direct reports, collaboratively developing and coaching individuals on their growth plans.
  • Create a dynamic work environment that supports a high-performance culture while ensuring operational efficiency and flexibility.

  • Ability to navigate production planning processes.
  • Proficient in applying lean manufacturing techniques and problem-solving skills to drive improvements in a metrics-driven environment.
  • Experience in developing strategic plans to meet key business objectives in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Cost.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly in spreadsheets, financial management, and production planning tools.
  • Proven track record in executing and delivering results in line with action plans.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Highly organized and self-motivated, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
  • Technical expertise with CNC machinery across various types and axes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of budgeting processes and financial management tools.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and Statistical Process Control methodologies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
  • Proven capability to lead projects and programs effectively.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute initiatives.
  • Established project management expertise.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in the Fasteners, Aerospace, or Automotive sectors.

Experience & Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering; an MS or MBA is highly desirable.
  • Over 7 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience in leading teams and achieving results through effective communication.
  • Proven success in driving results within a machining environment.
