About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead our operations and manufacturing team at Simply Bread Co.

This is a challenging and intellectually stimulating role that involves managing our manufacturing team, planning our supply chain, and working with our vendors to improve processes, systems, and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Manage our 7-member operations and manufacturing team to meet shipping quotas and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Process Improvement: Identify, analyze, and optimize existing operational processes to increase productivity and reduce costs.
  • Implementation: Implement process changes that lead to measurable improvements in quality, speed, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • System Development: Work with our remote implementation team to improve systems and tools, including spreadsheets, ERP/MRP systems, e-commerce tools, and CRM.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs on process improvement methodologies and tools to empower team members with the skills and knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
  • Reporting: Create and present project documentation, reports, and presentations communicating project progress, outcomes, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with data and draw actionable insights.
  • Experience in process improvement methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and collaborate effectively with diverse team members.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information.
  • Proficiency or willingness to become proficient with new software (Google Sheets, Shopify, Odoo, Hubspot).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a fast-paced startup environment focused on team participation.
  • A passion for the food and baking industry.
  • Proficiency in Spanish.
