  • Assisting in storm restoration processes.

The knowledge and skills required for this position include:

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with the principles and practices of electric utility distribution planning, construction, operation, and maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of electric utility operations, including generation, transmission, and distribution of three-phase alternating current power.

Qualifications:

We encourage applications from candidates who possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, along with four (4) or more years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a non-ABET accredited university combined with a Professional Engineering license and four (4) or more years of relevant engineering experience.

In this position, you will be responsible for:

  • Anticipating the effects of actions and decisions on various systems and a broad customer base.
  • Following established practices and procedures independently.
  • Resolving issues creatively and resourcefully beyond standard practices.
  • Engaging with internal and external clients, customers, and teams to communicate complex information effectively.
  • Managing customer expectations while addressing intricate system performance challenges and sharing improvement plans.
  • Training junior employees.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Designing, controlling, and implementing electrical systems and products.
  • Serving as the primary contact for all electrical engineering project matters.
  • Overseeing the development and implementation of electrical systems.
  • Conducting a variety of engineering tasks using computer-assisted design or engineering software.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to discuss current or potential engineering projects, monitoring progress and budgets, and preparing reports for management.
  • Ensuring compliance with standards and customer requirements by preparing specifications, technical drawings, and resolving project issues promptly.
  • Writing reports and compiling data on existing and potential electrical engineering projects, providing technical support as needed.
  • Preparing specifications for electrical equipment purchases and estimating costs for budget preparation.
