Position Overview:
We are seeking a Power Systems Engineer who will play a crucial role in the engineering and design processes that support the effective operation of our distribution, generation, and storage systems. This position involves collaboration with various teams within the organization and external partners to develop essential technical projects.
This role is situated within the Circuit Planning division for Low Voltage Distribution (LVD), which oversees the planning and management of electric distribution infrastructure. Responsibilities encompass both office-based and fieldwork related to the performance of electric distribution circuits, including planning, project management, reliability programs, and addressing customer concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret complex technical and policy information to address system planning and performance challenges.
- Evaluate the implications of decisions on multiple systems and customer bases.
- Execute standardized practices and procedures independently.
- Utilize creative problem-solving skills to adapt and resolve issues beyond conventional methods.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate complex information effectively.
- Manage customer expectations while addressing intricate system performance issues and communicating improvement plans.
- Oversee and mentor junior team members.
- Design and implement electrical systems and products, serving as the primary liaison for all engineering project matters.
- Conduct a variety of engineering tasks using computer-assisted design and engineering software.
- Collaborate with clients and colleagues to monitor project progress, budget, and prepare reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with specifications and standards by coordinating installation and testing activities.
- Prepare technical documentation and specifications for electrical equipment and materials.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution, with a minimum of four years of relevant engineering experience.
- Alternatively, a degree from a non-accredited institution accompanied by a Professional Engineering license and four years of applicable experience.
