The role of an Electrical Engineer at Teksky encompasses a range of responsibilities essential for the effective operation of electrical systems. This position demands a thorough understanding of engineering principles and the ability to apply them in practical scenarios.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required. Alternatively, an Associate's degree combined with relevant electric utility experience may be considered.
- At least one year of professional experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the electric utility sector.
- Possession of a valid Vehicle Operator's license in the State of Michigan.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electric generation, transmission, distribution, and metering principles.
- Strong understanding of per unit electrical calculations and symmetrical components theory.
- Familiarity with substation DC Control schematics and AC 3-line diagrams.
- Insight into transients and harmonics is essential.
- Proficiency in designing and developing electric generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
- Awareness of the NESC, NEC, and other relevant codes and regulations.
- General understanding of business management, contract administration, and project management is advantageous.
- Ability to utilize various electrical testing and control devices effectively.
- Capability to analyze complex engineering challenges and make informed decisions.
- Proficient in using office equipment and software applications, including CAD, GIS, spreadsheets, and word processing tools.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information clearly and interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while managing changing priorities.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to project management and completion.
- Fluency in English, with the ability to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions, is required. Regular attendance and punctuality are also essential.
