Role of the Program Manager

As a Program Manager, you will collaborate closely with engineers to develop secure, comprehensive solutions. The unique integration of hardware, software, and services at Apple allows for a unified vision, emphasizing a strong dedication to enhancing Apple's privacy policies, which are fundamental to the company's values.

Position Summary

The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team is in search of a proactive Engineering Program Manager (EPM) to assist in the development and operation of services utilized by millions daily. We seek exceptional individuals to lead projects across various sectors of Apple Cloud Infrastructure. You will work alongside a team focused on maintaining and enhancing Apple's critical cloud services, prioritizing extraordinary service availability, scalability, and security while establishing standards and improving operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an ambitious self-starter who excels in working independently while considering broader interdependencies. Your ability to manage multiple projects across diverse locations is essential. Strong written and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational capabilities are required. You should have a proven track record of managing complex software deliverables with numerous interdependencies and a history of being an outstanding collaborator within engineering, design, and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

The Cloud Infrastructure team, part of the Apple Services Engineering group, is looking for an extraordinary Engineering Program Manager (EPM) to spearhead innovative product solutions that will define the future of large-scale infrastructure at Apple. You will collaborate with various teams across the organization to deliver cutting-edge infrastructure that operates at a significant scale, utilizing open-source technologies like Kubernetes along with proprietary systems.

Qualifications
  • 8-10 years of demonstrated experience in software development project management within Site Reliability Engineering / DevOps / Infrastructure domains.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, project management expertise, and technical acumen.
  • Experience leading Cloud-native Infrastructure initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes is advantageous.
  • Agile project management experience, including knowledge of SCRUM methodologies, is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize features and technical roadmaps effectively.
  • Proficient in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in process re-engineering.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with demonstrated creative and analytical thinking skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with all organizational levels.
  • Capability to manage multiple simultaneous infrastructure projects and collaborate with various engineering teams.
  • Experience in end-to-end project delivery, from roadmap development to operational sustainability.
  • Strong facilitation skills for requirements gathering, design discussions, and progress meetings.
Preferred Qualifications

A BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.

  • Apple offers a competitive compensation package that includes base pay and opportunities for growth within the role. The base pay range for this position is between $129,600 and $236,300, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
