Job Summary

TDIndustries is seeking a Service Manager to lead a team of technicians and ensure the team is operating within company guidelines and state/local codes. The successful candidate will provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to direct reports to achieve performance goals and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and provide guidance to service technicians and supervisors, participating in manager on-call/stand-by rotation as dictated by business unit policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the team operates within company and business unit guidelines, conforming to state and local codes.
  • Coordinate HR-related issues and participate in hiring activities, including recommending candidates for hire.
  • Conduct timely, complete, and meaningful performance management conversations to grow employee careers.
  • Manage disciplinary measures when necessary and convey critical issues to the senior service manager.
  • Demonstrate a proficient understanding of service reporting metrics to lead and manage business results.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and ensure service technician performance meets customer requirements through direct management and communication.
  • Help generate sales proposals and identify, maximize, and communicate prefabrication opportunities.
  • Provide technical assistance, invoice dispute resolution, and accounts receivable feedback.
  • Manage revenue goals as set in annual strategic planning.
  • Monitor technician labor hours for efficiency and safety, ensuring work orders and time sheets are accurate.
  • Review the Technician Productivity Report each month and provide feedback to service technicians, highlighting areas for improvement and recognizing outstanding performance.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings with service technicians to identify and develop policies and procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Perform two safety observations per month, ensuring safety rules, policies, awareness, and practices are followed, and corrective measures are implemented.
  • Ensure incident investigations are performed in accordance with company policy in the event of injury or incident.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of HVAC/Plumbing management experience.
  • High School or GED; Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Required registrations, professional licenses, and/or certifications as required by the position.
  • Advanced knowledge of MEP systems, service processes, techniques, and codes.
  • Proficient in reading complex schematics and/or blueprints.
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation and leadership skills.
