The Pastry Arts Educator plays a vital role in the success of CSC Generation by motivating customers throughout their culinary exploration.

This position combines culinary expertise with instructional abilities to assist the Lead Chef in achieving business objectives. The Pastry Arts Educator reports directly to the Lead Chef.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates and guides team members to ensure exceptional customer service standards are upheld.

Provides an outstanding culinary class experience at each session using established recipes and instructional plans.

Maintains up-to-date product knowledge, utilizes available training resources, and seeks additional information as needed.

Ensures rigorous standards of hygiene and cleanliness are upheld throughout the culinary experience. Keeps both work and guest areas tidy and organized.

Guarantees that all food items are prepared and served at the appropriate temperatures and under sanitary conditions.

Collaborates as part of a high-performing team to meet the store's sales targets. Aims to achieve personal and/or class sales objectives.


Models and ensures that all CSC Generation policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are effectively communicated to team members, upheld, and consistently followed.


Provides real-time coaching and performance feedback to Kitchen Assistants and addresses performance issues directly with the Lead Chef.

Seeks opportunities to enhance culinary class and retail sales.

Records hours worked accurately in accordance with company policy.

Proactively identifies and resolves issues by taking decisive action and following up with the Lead Chef.

Exhibits exceptional verbal and written communication skills with team members, customers, management, and corporate personnel.

May be responsible for handling, serving, and mixing beverages, including cocktails and other drinks.

Additional duties as assigned by the Lead Chef.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members and customers.

Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.

Ability to navigate the workspace while coaching and directing employees or engaging with customers.


Ability to accurately distinguish between various flavors and aromas using taste and smell.


Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and reaching to demonstrate or retrieve cooking equipment and merchandise.


Ability to utilize hands for various culinary techniques such as chopping, whisking, and stirring.


Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate classes at various times.

Ability to operate computers, POS systems, and other necessary equipment to complete tasks.

Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Ability to lift and/or move items weighing up to 35 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Involves working with open flames and exposure to varying kitchen temperatures.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1-2 years of experience in kitchen operations.

Culinary degree in Pastry Arts or equivalent experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree.

Demonstrated success in teaching and training.

Valid Food Handlers and/or Food Managers Certification is required.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is essential.

Proven ability to drive sales and motivate teams.

Strong communication skills are necessary.
