The Culinary Educator, Savory Arts plays a pivotal role in the success of CSC Generation by motivating customers throughout their culinary experiences.

This position combines culinary expertise with instructional abilities to assist the Head Chef in achieving business objectives. The Culinary Educator reports directly to the Head Chef.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates and guides team members to ensure exemplary customer service standards are upheld.

Delivers a remarkable cooking class experience at every session utilizing provided recipes and structured plans.

Maintains up-to-date product knowledge, engages in available training, and seeks additional resources as needed.


Ensures that high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are upheld throughout the culinary experience by keeping both work and guest areas tidy and organized.

Guarantees that all food items are prepared and served at the appropriate temperatures and under sanitary conditions.

Collaborates as part of a high-performing team to meet the store's sales targets. Strives to achieve personal and/or class sales objectives.


Models and ensures that all CSC Generation policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are effectively communicated to team members, upheld, and consistently adhered to.


Provides immediate coaching and performance feedback to Kitchen Assistants and addresses performance concerns directly with the Head Chef.

Seeks opportunities to enhance cooking class and retail sales.

Accurately records hours worked in accordance with company policy.

Proactively identifies and resolves issues by taking decisive action and following up with the Head Chef.

Exhibits exceptional verbal and written communication skills with team members, customers, management, and corporate personnel.

May be responsible for handling, serving, and pouring alcoholic beverages and/or mixing ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks.

Additional duties as assigned by the Head Chef.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with team members and customers.

Ability to remain stationary for extended periods, up to 3 hours at a time.

Ability to navigate the workspace while coaching and directing employees or engaging with customers.


Ability to discern, with accuracy, differences in flavor intensity or quality, or to recognize specific flavors or aromas.


Ability to perform physical tasks such as grabbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching to demonstrate, retrieve, or replenish cooking equipment and merchandise.


Ability to use hands for various culinary techniques such as chopping, whisking, slicing, stirring, juicing, and demonstrating other methods.


Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate classes at various times throughout the day, week, and year.

Proficient in operating computers, POS systems, keyboards, merchandise scanners, and mice to complete tasks.

Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

Ability to lift and/or move items weighing up to 35 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Involves working with open flames and/or heating units, with exposure to varying kitchen temperatures.



EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

1-2 years of experience in kitchen operations.

Culinary degree or equivalent Sous Chef experience considered in lieu of degree.

Demonstrated experience in teaching and training.

Valid Food Handlers / Food Managers Certification required.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Proven ability to drive sales and motivate teams.

Strong communication skills are essential.
