Job Overview

Firetrol Protection Systems is seeking a skilled Fire Sprinkler Project Manager/Field Superintendent. The ideal candidate will possess a strong self-motivation and extensive experience in managing project schedules, preparing fabrication lists, procuring materials, and collaborating with authorities having jurisdiction for sprinkler plan approvals. Additionally, the candidate should be adept at monitoring the financial aspects of both construction and service projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the scheduling of sprinkler projects in the field.
  • Collaborate with general contractors or end-user clients to ensure adherence to project timelines.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of all design schematics prior to fabrication.
  • Evaluate submittals for dimensions, quantities, and design compliance to meet engineering specifications, spatial constraints, and compatibility with equipment from other suppliers.
  • Prepare fabrication lists and manage material orders for projects.
  • Facilitate the permitting process for sprinkler plans with the relevant authorities.
  • Participate in project meetings and site visits as necessary, conducting site assessments when required.
  • Monitor project financials, identifying potential cost savings and impacts.
  • Review and verify time cards.
  • Document and communicate any discrepancies, ambiguities, or missing information that may influence coordination or design objectives.
  • Maintain communication with field foremen throughout the design phase, noting any essential modifications resulting from coordination efforts.
Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of experience in fire sprinkler installation.
  • A minimum of 3 years in project management roles.
  • Possession of CSA2 certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days if expired).
  • Familiarity with NFPA 13, NFPA 20, NFPA 25, and FM Global Standards.
  • Technical knowledge of Fire Sprinkler Design, including Wet, Dry, Preaction, and Deluge systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
