Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Systems Technician to join our team at Arizona State University. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, and other fire systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Testing: Install new fire alarm systems, test existing systems, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, and other fire systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Inspections and Testing: Conduct regular inspections and testing of fire alarm systems to ensure they are functioning correctly and meet industry standards.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with other trades, such as plumbing and electrical, to complete projects and work orders.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations during and after hours to assist emergency responders and resolve immediate safety concerns.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Six (6) years of electrical and/or fire alarm/security systems experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
  • Certifications: NICET Level I Certification, and NICET Level II or higher Fire Alarm Systems Certification.
  • Skills and Abilities: Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, fire sprinkler systems, and other fire systems, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Working Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction. The position requires working a rotating on-call/stand-by schedule, performing shutdowns which may be outside of normal working hours, and may be called in for emergency response including nights, weekends, and holidays.
