Key Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Patient Registration Specialist include:

  • Facilitating patient registration while providing outstanding customer service and effective communication.
  • Reviewing scheduled outpatient appointments to confirm that all patients have been assessed for applicable discounts.
  • Discussing payment sources and arrangements with patients.
  • Assisting patients in completing Financial Assistance Forms, HCAP Applications, and Medicaid Applications as necessary.
  • Conducting quality reviews of patient accounts and ensuring accurate updates to all account details.
  • Maintaining knowledge of all compliance-related registration forms, consents, and necessary documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • Prior experience in registration or scheduling is highly desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to meet pre-screening protocols and demonstrate proficiency in computer and customer service skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively in teams and effectively communicating across various levels.
  • Willingness to learn specific patient processing software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and often demanding environment while maintaining professionalism and respect.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate staffing needs.

Education Requirements:
Candidates must have:

  • A high school diploma.
  • At least one year of experience in a medical office or customer service setting.
