Patient Intake Coordinator

Kettering Health Huber is strategically located and has been a vital part of the Huber Heights community for several years. Our facility includes:
- A 15-bed capacity
- Accreditation as a Level 3 Geriatric Emergency Department by the American College of Emergency Physicians
- A full-service emergency center available 24/7
- Convenient parking options
- Short wait times for patients
Key Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Patient Registration Specialist include:
- Facilitating patient registration while providing outstanding customer service and effective communication.
- Reviewing scheduled outpatient appointments to confirm that all patients have been assessed for applicable discounts.
- Discussing payment sources and arrangements with patients.
- Assisting patients in completing Financial Assistance Forms, HCAP Applications, and Medicaid Applications as necessary.
- Conducting quality reviews of patient accounts and ensuring accurate updates to all account details.
- Maintaining knowledge of all compliance-related registration forms, consents, and necessary documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- Prior experience in registration or scheduling is highly desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to meet pre-screening protocols and demonstrate proficiency in computer and customer service skills.
- Experience working collaboratively in teams and effectively communicating across various levels.
- Willingness to learn specific patient processing software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and often demanding environment while maintaining professionalism and respect.
- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate staffing needs.
Education Requirements:
Candidates must have:
- A high school diploma.
- At least one year of experience in a medical office or customer service setting.
