As a Head of Patient Intake and Evaluation, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring thorough evaluations for individuals seeking assistance for psychiatric or substance use disorders.
  • Overseeing the assessment process for all individuals requesting services.
  • Conducting initial evaluations for patients seeking care.
  • Supervising staff in managing all inquiries for services through various communication channels.
  • Responding to all incoming inquiries within established timeframes.
  • Making and overseeing treatment recommendations based on clinical assessments and established clinical criteria.
  • Collaborating with the admitting psychiatrist to review clinical presentations.
  • Documenting communications and scheduling appointments for individuals seeking treatment.
  • Creating, updating, and implementing the schedule for the assessment and referral office.
  • Explaining treatment options to patients and their families to ensure clarity and understanding.
  • Referring and directing patients to alternative treatment resources when necessary.
  • Evaluating, mentoring, and enhancing team competencies in assessment, patient and family engagement, and overall therapeutic care.
  • Collecting, monitoring, and reporting service performance metrics as required by the hospital's quality program.
  • Participating as a member of the Senior Leadership team.
Qualifications
As a Head of Patient Intake and Evaluation, you will possess:A degree from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an Associate Degree in Nursing.Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).BCLS Certification.ACLS certification preferred.A minimum of two years of experience in a psychiatric environment, with a preference for experience in crisis intervention and evaluations.
