Job Summary

The American Composers Forum is seeking a part-time Grants Manager to support the organization's philanthropic efforts. This role plays a critical part in securing funding from government, foundation, and corporate sources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Grant Writing and Proposal Development
    • Conduct research to identify grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and funding goals
    • Draft and submit compelling grant proposals in collaboration with the Executive Director and other staff members
    • Manage all aspects of grant and report submission, including assembling required attachments
  • Tracking and Stewardship
    • Manage and update grant deadlines and tracking processes in the organization's CRM system
    • Create cultivation and stewardship plans for grant funders and prospects
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Director of Development to complete cultivation and stewardship activities
    • Track activities and communications with grant contacts in the CRM system
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Perform other duties as requested by the Executive Director and Director of Development
Requirements
  • At least two years of experience in grant writing and fundraising
  • Demonstrated success in researching, developing, and writing grant proposals
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and complete timely submission of proposals and reports
  • Proficiency in technology tools and platforms for streamlined collaboration and project management
  • Experience with fundraising databases, specifically Salesforce
  • Ability to collaborate and work across teams
  • A genuine commitment to the organization's mission, values, and racial equity work
Benefits
  • Part-time, non-exempt position with a salary of $40/hour for up to 10 hours a week
  • Home office stipend of $30 per month
  • Eligibility for paid vacation days
Work Environment

The American Composers Forum is a national organization with a permanently hybrid working environment. The Grants Manager will work remotely with occasional in-person requirements. The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, sitting, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reaching with hands and arms, climbing stairs, talking, or hearing.
