About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Seafood Department Manager to join our team at Kroger. As a key member of our store leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Meat and Seafood department, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Create a positive and welcoming shopping experience for our customers, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Department Operations: Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Meat and Seafood department, including inventory management, pricing, and visual merchandising.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of associates, providing coaching, training, and feedback to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring that stock is accurately received, stored, and rotated to minimize waste and maximize sales.
  • Visual Merchandising: Maintain a visually appealing and organized store environment, including the Meat and Seafood department, to create an inviting atmosphere for customers.
  • Sales Growth: Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, including promotions, pricing, and product assortment.
  • Store Standards: Ensure that all store standards are met, including cleanliness, safety, and security.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in a retail or food service management role, preferably in a grocery store environment.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team; strong inventory management and visual merchandising skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
