Job Description

Water Grill Bellevue is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Restaurant General Manager to lead our team and drive business success.

About the Role

  • Oversee the daily operations of our restaurant, ensuring seamless service and high-quality food products.
  • Lead and motivate a team of managers and crew members to achieve sales and service goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive revenue growth, improve customer satisfaction, and increase employee engagement.
  • Manage financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring excellent customer service and a positive work environment.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Operations to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the flow of business during operating hours, ensuring all areas of service meet company standards.
  • Approve schedules, manage payroll, and oversee employee relations.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Ensure all food products meet company recipe specifications for preparation and quality.
  • Recognize and reward crew members for outstanding performance and contributions.
  • Communicate with the Director of Operations on financial, crew, property, or guest-related issues.
  • Make financial commitments to external partners and coordinate with other managers on updates, sales, policies, and standards.
  • Touch guest tables each shift to build relationships, ensure return visits, and troubleshoot any issues.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings for FOH crew and oversee training and cross-training of hourly crew.
  • Complete new hire paperwork for all crew members and lead progressive discipline of crew members and managers.
  • Communicate with Home Office on crew-related issues and interview and select new crew members.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews on all managers and set departmental goals with managers.
  • Lead weekly dashboards with all managers and prepare for and represent the restaurant at GM meetings and conference calls.
  • Lead all crew meetings and formulate restaurant policies and operation policies to enhance business.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints from crew disputes to guest complaints.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Seven years of experience as a manager in a full-service, high-volume restaurant.
  • Two years of experience as a general manager in a full-service casual or fine dining restaurant of similar concept.
  • Seafood knowledge and prior kitchen experience preferred.
  • College degree in a related field, i.e., business or hotel and restaurant management, preferred.
  • Flexible schedule required, able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Professional appearance and presentation required.
  • Good longevity in current and past positions.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., 10-20 is typical.
  • Ability to carry up to 120 feet.
  • Ability to reach up to 6 feet, 4 is typical.
  • Ability to work off counter heights of inches.
  • Ability to move through 24-inch aisles and spaces as small as 12 inches.
