Chief Information Officer

The Chief Information Officer - Infrastructure Services will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of UCLA's IT infrastructure. This role will lead a team of IT infrastructure professionals and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure a secure, efficient, and reliable technology infrastructure that supports UCLA's operations and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, planning, and implementation of new, large-scale network infrastructure.
- Manage ongoing technology infrastructure acquisition and expansion, including the identification and integration of suitable emerging technologies.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize infrastructure and network service delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with UCLA's vision and goals.
- Provide inclusive leadership and establish an inclusive working environment.
- Manage and develop high-performing teams to execute network engineering, platform services, plant/field management, data center operations, and unified communications.
- 10+ years of experience in IT, infrastructure services, higher education, network operations/engineering, cloud, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience leading teams in a management or leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience with infrastructure design, planning, and implementation.
- Expertise in infrastructure design and development, technical architecture, and core enterprise applications.
- Proven success leading a team with demonstrated leadership values and coaching skills.
- Ability to understand complex technical environments and adapt, integrate, and modify existing programs or vendor-supplied products.
- Highly skilled in written and verbal communications and able to communicate complex technical information.
- 12+ years of experience in IT, infrastructure services, higher education, network operations/engineering, cloud, or related field.
- Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university.
- IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL V3) certification or similar process-related certificate.
