Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Systems Engineer to become part of an innovative team that supports a complex infrastructure, delivering state-of-the-art training solutions. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in managing and enhancing existing servers and hosts to guarantee optimal availability and effective resource allocation. This role involves researching, recommending, and implementing hardware and software solutions to strengthen a multifaceted infrastructure. The focus will be on delivering mission-critical systems with an emphasis on accessibility, optimization, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Administering and optimizing server and host environments.
- Researching and implementing hardware and software enhancements.
- Ensuring high availability and resource management.
- Delivering secure and optimized infrastructure solutions.
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field, with seven (7) years of relevant experience. Alternatively, twelve (12) years of progressively responsible systems engineering experience may substitute for a degree.
- Current Security+ CE certification.
- Experience monitoring solutions and datacenter operations.
- Proficiency in a hybrid environment including Linux, Microsoft, and VMWare.
- Ability to build, maintain, and troubleshoot Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
- Experience with LAMP server installation and troubleshooting.
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Server 2016 and 2022.
- Application of STIG settings and network enforcement for Microsoft products.
- Configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft operating systems.
- Management of Microsoft Remote Access Server or desktops within a VDI.
- Installation and configuration of McAfee Antivirus endpoints and EPO Server.
- Understanding of RSOP and Nessus reports.
- Installation and configuration of various operating systems on bare metal and VMs.
- Strong command of Microsoft command line and PowerShell.
- Familiarity with vCenter and VM management in a VMWare environment.
- Enthusiasm for learning new tools and technologies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Basic vCenter management and Horizon View image handling.
- Installation and configuration of Nessus agents.
- Ability to articulate complex design and troubleshooting processes.
- Experience with Atlassian products such as Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket.
- Certificate management in Microsoft and Linux servers.
- Management of imaging servers for Microsoft desktops.
- Experience with capturing, deploying, and maintaining desktop images.
- Management of WSUS or SCCM servers.
- Backup server management and policy oversight.
- Familiarity with the What's Up Gold application.
- Experience with Docker containers and WSL security.
- Knowledge of data center system interconnections.
- Understanding of scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
