Position Summary:
We are in search of a Systems Engineer to enhance our dynamic team, which supports a sophisticated infrastructure designed for innovative training solutions. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our existing servers and hosts, ensuring high availability and efficient resource allocation. Responsibilities include researching, recommending, and implementing advanced hardware and software solutions to strengthen our complex infrastructure. The focus will be on delivering mission-critical systems with an emphasis on accessibility, optimization, and security. We encourage qualified candidates to consider this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and optimize existing systems to maintain high availability.
- Research and implement hardware and software strategies to enhance infrastructure.
- Ensure security compliance and manage system resources effectively.
- Monitor data center operations and provide solutions for performance improvements.
- Collaborate within a hybrid environment, including Linux, Microsoft, and VMWare.
- Manage Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
- Install and troubleshoot LAMP servers and Windows Server instances.
- Apply security settings and enforce network policies for Microsoft products.
- Configure and maintain remote access solutions within a virtual desktop infrastructure.
- Utilize command line and PowerShell for system management.
- Engage in continuous learning of new tools and technologies.
Required Qualifications:
- TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with seven years of relevant experience, or twelve years of progressive systems engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
- Current Security+ CE certification.
- Experience with monitoring solutions and data center operations.
- Proficiency in managing various operating systems and virtualization technologies.
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with vCenter and Horizon View management.
- Experience with Nessus and Atlassian products.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
- Understanding of data center interconnectivity and system integration.
