Position Overview:

This role is essential in facilitating exceptional banquet services while actively overseeing, coaching, guiding, and training the banquet team to achieve and surpass quality benchmarks by executing the following responsibilities, all while embodying the GILA WAY.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivers outstanding guest service experiences to both internal and external patrons.
  • Assists in the comprehensive management of business operations within a hospitality setting.
  • Ensures strict adherence to all alcohol service regulations, monitoring compliance throughout events and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Supports the Banquet Manager in recruiting, training, developing, and mentoring banquet personnel.
  • Instructs employees on proper food handling, cash management, and workplace safety protocols.
  • Aids in resolving technical issues related to Point of Sale systems, addressing both hardware and software challenges.
  • Maintains a reliable attendance record with minimal absences or tardiness.
  • Completes additional special projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Supervisory Duties:

Directly oversees multiple team members, executing supervisory responsibilities in alignment with organizational policies and relevant laws.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Previous management experience in event coordination, catering, or banquet services is essential.
  • Exceptional food and beverage service skills are a must.
  • Ability to embody the GILA WAY: Greet, Interact, Listen, and Appreciate our guests.
  • Must obtain and maintain necessary certifications, including a valid Gila River Environmental Health Food Handlers Card and Alcohol Awareness Certification.
  • Strong guest service skills, excellent telephone etiquette, and self-motivation with the ability to complete tasks independently.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with guests and team members.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess or be able to acquire within one year a comprehensive understanding of Enterprise Policies and Procedures, governmental regulations, and technical standards relevant to the role.
