Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Educator to join our team in the Cardiology/Neurology Intensive Care Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing educational programs for nursing and clinical staff, as well as providing continuing education and in-services to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Educational Programs: Collaborate with Nurse Educators and Managers to design and implement unit-based educational programs that address identified practice gaps, regulatory requirements, and specialty standards.
  • Provide Continuing Education and In-Services: Create a learning environment that fosters collaboration and knowledge sharing among practitioners, leaders, nurses, and patient care staff.
  • Coordinate Education and Competency Development: Ensure that patient care staff receive proper training and education on equipment and supplies, and document and address competency deficits in staff members and teams.
  • Support Onboarding and Orientation: Facilitate unit-based orientation of licensed and unlicensed healthcare personnel during onboarding and when changes in roles, responsibilities, and practice settings occur.
  • Maintain Professional Knowledge: Participate in continuing education programs, conferences, seminars, and workshops to stay current with best practices and industry developments.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Certification and Licensing: Valid Florida RN license
  • Experience: Minimum two years of experience as an Educator or Preceptor, with a preference for experience in the Cardiology/Neurology Intensive Care Unit
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes: Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others; ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment; ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions; ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form; and ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
