Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and protect them from radiation hazards.
- Operate X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
- Select the appropriate ionizing factors for radiologic diagnosis and adjust radiographic controls as needed.
- Position patients and take X-rays of specific body parts as requested by physicians, checking images for clarity and retaking as necessary.
- Distribute X-rays to medical staff and maintain accurate records, including patient records, daily log books, and monthly reports.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure X-ray units meet safety standards and make minor adjustments to equipment as needed.
- Clean and maintain radiographic equipment, including ordering supplies and making repairs when necessary.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in radiologic technology from an accredited program.
- 1-3 years of experience as a radiologic technologist, preferably in a medical practice environment.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration preferred.
Work Environment:
This role operates in a professional office environment and requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
