Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

As a Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist at Rhode Island Medical Imaging, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients. This is a per diem position, requiring a minimum of 16 hours of work per month, with a focus on flexibility and adaptability.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a high level of accuracy in producing, using, recognizing, and analyzing ultrasound images and patterns for diagnostic purposes.
Review images to ensure they meet acceptable quality and completeness standards for diagnostic use.
Possess and apply knowledge of bioeffects of high-frequency sound waves, adhering to ALARA principles.
Accommodate patients in a timely manner, obtaining necessary medical history, instructing, and informing patients about procedures.
Treat patients with care, courtesy, and professionalism at all times.
Operate equipment according to established procedures and routines, performing quality control when required.
Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
Utilize critical thinking and independent judgment in all aspects of work, following prescribed techniques and procedures for maintenance of aseptic conditions.
Ensure accurate completion of images, examinations requisitions, and related records for correct patient identification, statistical, and billing information.
Requirements:
One year of formal training in an accredited School of Ultrasound or one year of experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer.
Registration in ultrasound by the ARDMS in at least one application.
Experience in Abdominal, OB/GYN, small parts, and Vascular Ultrasound is required. Registered in Breast Ultrasound is a plus.
Current with all CME requirements.
