Position Overview

Audubon Companies is in search of a Mechanical Engineering Associate IV to contribute to our operations. This role involves executing mechanical engineering tasks related to the design of equipment, components, structures, or systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • With minimal supervision, create intermediate to advanced specifications for project tasks that outline client performance expectations, specific component requirements, design parameters, relevant design codes, and vendor drawing standards.
  • Develop engineering sketches, conduct engineering calculations, and formulate analysis models for moderately complex project tasks.
  • Evaluate and/or endorse vendor drawings to ensure alignment with project specifications.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other consultants.
  • Establish realistic expectations and ensure project completion within designated timelines and budgets.
  • Adhere to company quality protocols and follow engineering review and approval processes.
  • Comply with all organizational and client health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards, as well as federal and local HSSE regulations.
  • Actively participate in hazard identification and observation initiatives, promptly reporting any unsafe acts, conditions, or incidents to your supervisor.
  • Collaborate with the drafting/design team to create and review engineering drawings.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and conditions.
  • Inspect vendor facilities to ensure equipment meets specifications.
  • Prepare inquiries and purchase requisitions, along with bid tabulations related to equipment acquisitions.
  • Review engineering drawings and perform mathematical calculations for accuracy.
  • Maintain safe design practices while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage workload, budgets, and project resources, seeking assistance when necessary.
  • Assist in developing internal design guidelines, specifications, and design control procedures.
  • Address project design challenges.
  • Compile discipline-specific man-hour estimates and Total Installed Cost estimates based on client-provided project scope, managing and forecasting man-hour requirements and schedules.
  • May oversee small scope projects and manage daily workflow within a group or project; may assign tasks, distribute workload, set deadlines, and report to immediate supervisor on work completion.
  • Responsible for providing feedback to immediate supervisor regarding co-worker performance and any work-related issues, including those that may lead to disciplinary actions.
  • Offer guidance and support on work techniques, best practices, and subject matter expertise to colleagues.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an ABET Accredited Institution is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification is preferred; a minimum of 10 years of experience is preferred.
  • Experience leading small to medium projects is preferred.
  • Experience in Offshore Oil and Gas is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel offshore for short durations is required.
  • Ability to meet Client requirements for offshore travel is necessary.
  • Active TWIC is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the design of piping systems and process equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of piping, pressure vessel, and equipment codes (ASME, API, etc.) is preferred.
  • Ability to make decisions or take actions to resolve issues or achieve objectives.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions and seek clarification when needed.
  • Capability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
