Position Overview

Audubon Companies is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Associate IV to contribute to our engineering initiatives. This role involves executing mechanical engineering tasks related to the design of various equipment, components, and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed specifications for project tasks with minimal supervision, addressing client performance needs, design requirements, and vendor documentation.
  • Create engineering sketches, conduct calculations, and formulate analysis models for moderately complex projects.
  • Evaluate vendor drawings to ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants.
  • Establish realistic project expectations and ensure timely completion within budget constraints.
  • Maintain compliance with company quality standards and follow engineering review procedures.
  • Adhere to health, safety, security, and environmental regulations as mandated by the company and clients.
  • Participate in hazard identification and reporting unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  • Collaborate with the drafting/design team to produce and review engineering drawings.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and conditions.
  • Inspect vendor facilities to verify equipment compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions and bid tabulations for equipment acquisitions.
  • Review engineering drawings and perform calculations for accuracy.
  • Focus on safe design practices while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage project resources, budgets, and schedules, seeking assistance when necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of internal design guidelines and control procedures.
  • Address project design challenges effectively.
  • Estimate man-hours and Total Installed Costs based on project scope, managing forecasts and schedules.
  • Lead small scope projects, overseeing daily workflow and delegating tasks as needed.
  • Provide feedback on team performance and address work-related issues proactively.
  • Offer guidance on best practices and technical expertise to colleagues.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
  • Degree from an ABET Accredited Institution is preferred.
  • Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification is preferred with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
  • Experience leading small to medium projects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Offshore Oil and Gas operations is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel offshore for short durations is necessary.
  • Compliance with client travel requirements for offshore work is essential.
  • Active TWIC is preferred.
  • Knowledge of piping systems and process equipment design is preferred.
  • Understanding of piping, pressure vessel, and equipment codes (ASME, API, etc.) is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to proactively address work-related challenges.
  • Capacity to comprehend instructions and seek clarification when needed.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
