Position Overview

Audubon Companies is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Consultant IV to contribute to our engineering projects. The selected candidate will be responsible for executing mechanical engineering tasks related to the design of various equipment, components, and systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare detailed specifications for project tasks, outlining client requirements, component specifications, design criteria, and relevant codes.
  • Create engineering sketches, conduct calculations, and develop models for moderately complex projects.
  • Review vendor drawings to ensure adherence to project specifications.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring completion within set parameters.
  • Follow company quality assurance protocols and engineering review processes.
  • Adhere to health, safety, security, and environmental standards as mandated by both the company and regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in hazard identification and safety observation initiatives, reporting any unsafe conditions.
  • Collaborate with the drafting/design team to create and review engineering drawings.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and conditions.
  • Inspect vendor facilities to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions and bid evaluations for equipment procurement.
  • Verify engineering drawings and calculations for accuracy.
  • Focus on safe design practices while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Oversee project resources and manage workload effectively, seeking assistance when necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of internal design guidelines and control procedures.
  • Address and resolve design-related issues as they arise.
  • Estimate man-hours and costs based on project scope, managing forecasts and schedules.
  • May lead smaller projects, overseeing daily workflow and delegating tasks as needed.
  • Provide performance feedback regarding team members and address any work-related concerns.
  • Offer guidance on best practices and techniques to colleagues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
  • Degree from an ABET Accredited Institution is preferred.
  • Specialization in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification is preferred, along with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience leading small to medium projects is preferred.
  • Background in Offshore Oil and Gas projects is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel offshore for short durations is required.
  • Compliance with client travel requirements is necessary.
  • Active TWIC certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with piping systems and process equipment design is preferred.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes (ASME, API, etc.) is preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to proactively address work-related challenges.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to seek clarification when needed.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
