Lead Research Program Specialist (Clinical Research Administrator)

UR Medicine Neurosurgery is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to lead the administrative, managerial, and practical support for a department's research program. As the primary point of contact, you will collaborate with the Program Director to initiate, formulate, and monitor research program activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support senior administrators and faculty in program planning, budget management, and submission processes for contracts and grants.
  • Act as the primary administrative liaison with other departments, universities, and organizations involved in research and training programs.
  • Develop and monitor various budgets, ensuring fiscal control and compliance with regulations.
  • Provide strategic guidance on administrative and fiscal activities, including staffing, space, and resource management.
  • Represent the program to regulatory agencies, professional organizations, and other research institutions.
  • Oversee and coordinate program activities, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a research-related discipline and have at least 5 years of experience in program, project, or fiscal management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential for success in this role. Knowledge of federal regulations affecting clinical trials and medical research is preferred, but training in clinical research, financial management, and program planning will also be highly valued.
