About the Position

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager, Pre-Award Research Administration to join our team. As a key member of our College of Engineering and Computing, you will be responsible for leading and supervising all staff performing pre-award activities for the sponsored research portfolio.

Responsibilities
  • Management and Oversight of Pre-Award Staff: Supervise, evaluate, and review staff performing pre-award activities, including day-to-day operations, workload distribution, and task redistribution.
  • Pre-Award Process Management: Monitor and facilitate proposal process through routing, complete departmental review of CEC proposals, and develop, implement, and maintain pre-award policies and procedures.
  • CEC Liaison: Work in partnership with the Office of Sponsored Programs, Office of Research Integrity and Assurance, and Post-Award team lead to ensure compliance with University policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in Sponsored Programs Administration, including creation and submission of research proposals and supervision of a team.
  • Knowledge of federal rules and regulations relating to research grant and/or contract activity.
  • Fundamental interpersonal skills in a professional environment and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
