About the Role:

The Applications Engineer will work closely with our sales team and customers to understand their requirements and ensure our proposed solutions are highly competitive. This role involves working with internal and external resources to prepare supporting data for proposals and ensuring an effective transition to Project Management of won opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the sales team and customers to gain a clear understanding of customer requirements and ensure proposed solutions are highly competitive.
  • Work with internal and external resources to prepare supporting data for proposals and ensure an effective transition to Project Management of won opportunities.
  • Support the sales team through travel, live meetings, and conference calls in the presentation of resulting Engineered System solution quotes/proposals directly to customers.
  • Work closely with Product Management to ensure systems library and product portfolios are maintained, proper sales training is conducted, and marketing collateral is effectively communicated.

Requirements:

  • Ability to thoroughly complete tasks under tight timelines and aggressive sales activity.
  • Strong technical understanding of packaging industry product lines, robotics/case packing/palletizing/depalletizing, and integration/layout/design of Engineered Systems.
  • Ability to organize activities and multi-task in a high-energy environment.
  • Sound knowledge of sales and production processes (Sales, Project Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Machine Assembly).
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Travel required as needed to fulfill responsibilities.

Experience:

  • B.A. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and technical/professional experience.
  • Minimum five years' experience in engineering, controls, robotics, material handling, and systems integration.
  • Documented experience in the design and presentation of complete end-of-line packaging systems/proposals that may include case erectors, tray formers, robotic loaders, case sealers, robotic palletizers, stretch wrappers, conveyors, fillers, metal detectors, and coding machinery, etc.
  • CAD skill required (AutoCAD preferred).
  • Proficient in Allen-Bradley controls systems a plus.
