Job Overview

The Aerospace Quality Control Specialist plays a crucial role in conducting both in-process and final evaluations of aeronautical products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications. This position requires a commitment to timely execution and accurate reporting of inspection outcomes, including the documentation of any discrepancies. The ideal candidate will exhibit meticulous attention to detail, a strong sense of integrity, sound judgment, and a collaborative spirit throughout the inspection process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret and assess drawings, procedures, and specifications that dictate manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the quality assurance manual and its associated processes.
  • Verify that products and services conform to specified drawings, standards, and customer expectations.
  • Exhibit leadership skills while collaborating with manufacturing technicians.
  • Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
  • Adapt to various job functions and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Utilize metrology equipment for the assessment of aircraft components and manufacturing tools.
  • Conduct receiving inspections as necessary.
  • Ensure tooling certification and maintain calibration records within the certification database.
  • Develop inspection protocols for automated CMM operations using CAD and GD&T data.
  • Execute measurement systems analysis and address non-conformities with root cause evaluations and corrective action plans.
  • Support the standardization and enhancement of current and future dimensional inspection methodologies.
  • Provide assistance to fellow quality assurance personnel as needed.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications while articulating findings effectively.
  • Proficient in basic measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Experienced with advanced metrology instruments including Faro Arms, Laser Trackers, CMMs, and Laser Scanners.
  • Skilled in inspection software such as Polyworks, Cam2MeasureX, and PC-DMIS.
  • In-depth understanding of GD&T principles.
  • Familiarity with Pro-Engineer software.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and related applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities for troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
  • Exhibit spatial and mechanical aptitude.
