Your Role:
The selected candidate will serve as the national expert in instrumentation and controls, providing essential support to our Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team across the country. This team manages municipal and industrial wastewater and water treatment facilities, often relying on our expertise to troubleshoot and resolve critical instrumentation and controls issues swiftly. The ideal candidate will engage with a diverse range of personnel and must possess the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. A solid understanding of various control systems platforms and a willingness to travel frequently are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and promptly resolve issues related to PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces), alarming, and communication systems within SCADA frameworks at wastewater, water, and industrial facilities, utilizing remote access or on-site interventions as necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all cases and resolutions in our case management system.
- Collaborate with plant personnel to assess the urgency and operational impact of issues.
- Conduct site assessments for newly contracted facilities to evaluate SCADA systems and propose upgrades based on field observations.
- Advise site managers on spare parts inventory management.
- Coordinate with the procurement team for equipment and software acquisitions.
- Consult with key stakeholders regarding necessary SCADA system enhancements.
- Work alongside the senior program leader to implement improvements that benefit O&M operators and other staff.
- Modify PLC programming and HMI graphics as required by plant personnel.
- Utilize specialized software to generate automated reports for regulatory compliance and operational monitoring.
- Engage in basic control panel and instrument wiring and troubleshooting.
- Configure and calibrate various instruments, including level, pressure, flow, and temperature sensors, ensuring proper integration with the SCADA system.
- Participate in small-scale SCADA upgrade projects as needed.
- Provide training to operations staff on the use, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of SCADA equipment and software.
- Adhere to safety protocols and prioritize safety in all operations.
- Work independently while also collaborating with diverse teams.
- Be prepared to travel on short notice when required.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Exhibit strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Be self-motivated and proactive in problem-solving.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience in control system integration and service, or an Associate's degree with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient in Allen-Bradley and/or other PLC hardware and software.
- Extensive experience with Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk, Aveva Wonderware, Ignition, VTScada, and GE Proficy iFix.
- Experience in configuring and developing graphics for OITs such as Allen-Bradley PanelView and Automation Direct C-More.
- Familiarity with automated reporting software and alarm dialing software.
- Hands-on experience with instrumentation in the water and wastewater sector.
- Strong electrical and mechanical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and database management.
- Knowledge of computer networking and programming languages is a plus.
- Experience in the water/wastewater industry is advantageous.
Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $110,000 and $130,000 annually, with final compensation determined by experience and geographic differentials.
