Join a Leading Investment Bank as an Equity Research Analyst

We are seeking a dedicated equity research analyst to assist a senior biotechnology analyst in evaluating mid- and small-cap biotech firms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-depth research and assess drug development pipelines by reviewing scientific publications, participating in medical conferences, and engaging with industry specialists.
  • Draft comprehensive research reports for coverage initiations, detailed data evaluations, competitive analysis, and updates on industry and company developments.
  • Investigate intellectual property matters and monitor patent disputes related to pharmaceuticals.
  • Develop and sustain financial models and presentation materials.
  • Generate and implement innovative project concepts.
  • Collaborate with company executives, internal sales and trading teams, and institutional investors.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A strong desire to advance within the sell-side sector over the long term.
  • Detail-oriented, diligent, and a collaborative team member.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities in interpreting preclinical and clinical data.
  • A solid understanding of drug development processes and the FDA approval pathway is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare investment research (sell-side, buy-side, investment banking, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Typing speed of over 120 words per minute.
  • Experience in crafting high-quality sell-side reports, creating presentations, and developing intricate financial models (e.g., comprehensive three-statement models, DCFs, market models, etc.).
  • Proficiency in building financial models using Excel is a plus.

About the Senior Analyst:

The senior analyst specializes in small- to mid-cap biotech companies and possesses over a decade of equity research expertise. His background includes roles at prominent financial institutions, where he honed his skills in the biotechnology and software sectors.

Compensation and Benefits:

The position offers a competitive salary range of $100,000-$120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to salary, we provide eligible employees with an annual discretionary incentive and retention bonus, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k); life, accident, and disability insurance; and wellness programs. Paid time off includes vacation, sick leave, holidays, and parental leave.
