Pilot Instructor - NSLI

Sun Country Airlines is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pilot Instructor to join our team. As a Pilot Instructor - NSLI, you will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of airline pilots.

About the Role

As a Pilot Instructor - NSLI, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and training to ensure our pilots are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in their roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction and certification of completion of modules within the flight training segment of the Sun Country Qualification and Continuing Qualification curricula.
  • Develop and prepare module outlines, study materials, and instructional techniques as dictated by curriculum and pilot needs.
  • Understand the role and responsibilities of being an airline pilot, including Pilot in Command and Second in Command duties, roles & responsibilities, expectations for professionalism, leadership, decision making, Crew Resource and Threat and Error Management, and Sun Country company policies and available resources.
  • Regularly solicit feedback from attendees on course critiques.
  • Present organized briefings and lead interactive discussions.
  • Adhere to approved curricula and allotted time slots for each instructional module.
  • Manage classroom and training resources, including setup and breakdown of presentation materials.
  • Continuously demonstrate ability to train and evaluate pilot performance in all phases of flight, including normal and non-normal situations.
  • Emphasize safety and security as the top priority.
  • Provide thorough de-briefs to students on their development at the completion of each module.
General Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Familiarity with technology required for the job, including:
    • Use of Apple iPad tablet to access instructor syllabus and briefing materials.
    • Establishing internet or cell data connections to access company information and schedules.
    • Use of Power Point, email, and email folders.
Supervisory Responsibility

This role has no supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • FAA Airline Transport Pilot certificate, with airplane multi-engine rating.
  • At least two thousand (2,000) hours of experience as an airman in 14 CFR Part 121 operations or equivalent commercial air carrier experience.
  • Candidate must have served at least one (1) year as an Instructor/Evaluator in a 14 CFR Part 121 program; or served at least one (1) year as PIC or SIC in the same airplane group as the B-737.
Preferred Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a qualified pilot flight instructor/evaluator in a 14 CFR Part 121 program, in FTDs, flight simulators, and/or aircraft.
  • B737 Type Rating is preferred, but not required.
