Overview of the Non-Seniority List Pilot Training Instructor Role: The Non-Seniority List Instructor (NSLI) Contractor is responsible for conducting task-oriented training in Full Flight Simulators and Flight Training Devices for the airline's line pilots.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction and certify the completion of training modules within the Sun Country Qualification and Continuing Qualification curricula.
  • Design and prepare module outlines, educational materials, and instructional strategies based on curriculum requirements and pilot needs.
  • Comprehend the responsibilities of an airline pilot, including Pilot in Command and Second in Command duties, expectations for professionalism, leadership, decision-making, and adherence to company policies.
  • Actively seek feedback from participants regarding course effectiveness.
  • Facilitate organized briefings and lead engaging, interactive discussions.
  • Strictly follow approved curricula and manage allotted time for each instructional module.
  • Oversee classroom and training resources, including the setup and breakdown of presentation materials such as PowerPoint, manuals, and handouts.
  • Consistently demonstrate the ability to train and assess pilot performance in all flight phases, including normal and non-normal scenarios.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that embraces diverse perspectives and styles.
  • Prioritize safety and security for oneself and others.
  • Observe pilots' actions during training sessions to ensure effective integration of classroom instruction.
  • Provide comprehensive debriefings to students on their progress at the conclusion of each module.
General Requirements:
  • Applicants should be proficient with technology relevant to the role, including:
    • Utilizing Apple iPad tablets for accessing instructional materials, navigational charts, and operational manuals.
    • Establishing internet or cellular connections for accessing company information.
    • Using PowerPoint, email, and managing email folders.
  • The NSLI will undergo initial, periodic, and random performance evaluations as both a pilot and instructor during Initial and Continuing Qualification training.
  • This position is safety-sensitive.
  • A B737 Type Rating is preferred but not mandatory.
