About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Intern to join our Technology Analytics team at Arup. As a Research Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, collaborating with our experienced engineers and researchers to develop innovative solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct numerical analyses using first-principles methods to solve complex problems
  • Perform and report linear and non-linear, static and dynamic analysis in fluid dynamics or structures
  • Collaborate with structural engineers, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and risk consultants on innovative projects
  • Work on defined tasks under the close supervision of a senior engineer
  • Analysis, design, and communication of results to clients
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Architectural engineering, or similar related field
  • Fundamental knowledge of structural mechanics, fluid mechanics, as appropriate
  • Understanding of computer programming and statistics
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cover letter included in application submission
  • Experience with FEA and/or CFD software
  • Experience in web or app development
  • Coursework in data science

Los Angeles Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Los Angeles is $23.50 to $35 per hour. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Los Angeles, CA will differ.

San Francisco Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in San Francisco is $26 to $37 per hour. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of San Francisco, CA will differ.

Oakland Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Oakland is $26 to $37 per hour. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Oakland, CA will differ.

Seattle Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Seattle is $23.50 to $35 per hour. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Seattle, WA will differ.
