Our mission is to effectively manage rainwater through a comprehensive approach: capturing it with our drain basins, transporting it with our pipes, storing it in chambers, and treating it with our water quality products, ensuring it is safely returned to the environment.

We address the complete lifecycle of a raindrop, contributing to flood prevention and enhancing the quality of life in urban, suburban, and rural areas.

Additionally, we are committed to sustainability, being the largest plastic recycling entity in North America, repurposing over 500 million pounds of plastic annually.

With a global network of over 60 manufacturing facilities and 30 distribution centers, we have compelling stories to share, and we need your expertise to communicate them effectively.

Key Responsibilities

The Route Planner plays a crucial role in managing driver and customer interactions through effective communication, strategic planning, and problem-solving. Responsibilities include:
  • Creating a safe and inclusive work environment for drivers.
  • Scheduling orders to align with delivery timelines and customer requirements.
  • Verifying customer delivery details, including addresses and contact information.
  • Communicating driver routes promptly to ensure work-life balance and predictability.
  • Building efficient loads and planning delivery stops with safety as a priority.
  • Maximizing driver productivity and fleet utilization.
  • Enhancing route efficiency by minimizing unnecessary travel distances.
  • Collaborating with Customer Service Representatives and Sales on expedited orders.
  • Managing common carrier billing and return merchandise authorizations.
  • Overseeing driver trip documentation and log verification.
  • Auditing bills of lading and validating missed reason codes.
  • Managing backorders and future orders.
  • Supporting the Stop Work Authority Program.
  • Escalating issues to the Freight Manager as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and knowledge:
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and a team player.
  • Willingness to learn and an open-minded approach to problem-solving.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Familiarity with FMCSA and State DOT regulations, including Hours of Service rules.

Preferred Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of office or computer experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in transportation, including dispatch or administration.

Compensation

The hourly compensation for this position ranges from $22.00 to $28.00, based on various factors including work location, shift, and relevant experience. Advanced Drainage Systems offers competitive pay, professional development opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package.
