Based in Hilliard, Ohio, we are a leading stormwater management enterprise, manufacturing pipes and related products.

What does this entail? During rainfall, we capture water using our drainage systems, transport it with our piping solutions, store it with our chambers, and treat it with our water quality products, ensuring safe return to the environment.

We manage what we refer to as the complete lifecycle of a raindrop.

Our solutions help mitigate flooding, enhancing the quality of life for residents in urban, suburban, and rural areas.

We are also committed to fostering a circular economy and are recognized as the largest plastic recycling entity in North America.

We repurpose plastic bottles to manufacture pipes, diverting over 500 million pounds of plastic from landfills annually.

ADS operates a comprehensive network of over 60 manufacturing facilities and 30 distribution centers.

Key Responsibilities

The Route Planner is accountable for efficiently managing driver and customer interactions through effective communication, strategic planning, and problem-solving. This role encompasses dispatching and shipping-related tasks. The Route Planner also serves as a backup for the Freight Manager and may be considered for succession into that role. This position requires the flexibility to work over 40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends as necessary.

Core Duties Include:
- Fostering a safe and inclusive environment for drivers
- Scheduling orders to ensure timely deliveries and meet customer expectations
- Verifying customer delivery times with accurate addresses and contact details
- Communicating driver routes promptly to promote work-life balance and predictability
- Constructing executable loads and planning delivery stops with safety as a priority
- Enhancing driver productivity, fleet asset utilization, and load efficiency
- Optimizing route efficiency by minimizing unnecessary miles
- Collaborating with Customer Service Representatives and Sales on expedited orders and regional fulfillment
- Managing common carrier/UPS billing and return merchandise authorizations
- Overseeing driver trip documentation and log verification
- Conducting BOL audits and validating missed reason codes
- Managing backorders and future orders
- Supporting the Stop Work Authority Program
- Elevating concerns to the Freight Manager

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and knowledge:
- Self-motivated, reliable, and team-oriented
- Eagerness to learn new skills and maintain an open-minded and curious approach
- Effective communication abilities
- Proficient in intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational, time management, and conflict resolution capabilities
- Familiarity with FMCSA and State DOT regulations, including Hours of Service rules

Preferred Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of office/computer experience
- 1-2 years of experience in transportation (dispatch, driver, administration)

Compensation Range
$22.00-$28.00 hourly, non-exempt

Individual pay may vary based on work location, shift, and factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
