Key Responsibilities

The Logistics Route Coordinator is tasked with optimizing driver and customer interactions through effective communication, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills. This role encompasses dispatching and shipping functions and serves as a backup for the Freight Manager, with potential for future advancement. Flexibility to work over 40 hours weekly, including evenings and weekends, is essential.

Core Responsibilities:

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Fostering a safe and inclusive work environment for drivers
  • Scheduling deliveries to align with customer requirements and deadlines
  • Verifying customer delivery schedules, ensuring accurate address and contact details
  • Communicating driver routes promptly to maintain work-life balance and predictability
  • Constructing efficient loads and planning delivery stops with safety as a priority
  • Enhancing driver productivity, optimizing fleet asset utilization, and maximizing load capacity
  • Improving route efficiency by minimizing unnecessary travel distances
  • Collaborating with Customer Service Representatives and Sales on expedited orders and regional logistics
  • Managing common carrier billing, returns, and shipping method communications
  • Overseeing driver documentation and verifying trip logs
  • Auditing Bills of Lading and validating missed delivery reasons
  • Managing backorders and future orders
  • Supporting the Stop Work Authority Program
  • Raising concerns to the Freight Manager as necessary

Required Skills:

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and knowledge:

  • Self-motivated, reliable, and a team player
  • Willingness to learn and adapt, with strong communication abilities
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and conflict resolution skills
  • Understanding of FMCSA and State DOT regulations, including Hours of Service rules

Educational Background/Preferred Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of office or computer experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in transportation, including dispatch, driving, or administration

Compensation:

$22.00-$28.00 hourly, non-exempt
